Therapy Room Renovation in Utah
In 2017, Sunshine Heroes partnered with the Utah County Children’s Justice Center on two projects. The purpose of the CJC is to reduce the trauma of children involved in an investigation of child abuse. They help them feel to safe enough to reveal the truth and begin immediate healing. The CJC also provides emotional support for the child and their family members as well as referrals for treatment and other community resources. We volunteered by painting and redesigning two interview rooms at the Provo location. These rooms will help future victims feel safe and comfortable. For our second project, we raised $5,000 in one day, with the help of our local community, to pay the first year of rent for their new location in Nephi, Utah.
